"Action is the foundational key to all success." Pablo Picasso
The only true key to being successful is...ACTION! You have to be persistent, consistent and take massive action if success is what you want. It's not the most pleasurable tactic sometimes. It will take blood , sweat and tears. You will even fail at times. And that's o.k because failure simply means there is something to be learned or another direction to be taken.
You keep going, you keep moving forward because your idea is still valid and your dream is reachable. We, as humans, always want the easy road, take short cuts and complain about how hard it is. Well, taking short cuts and complaining is not going to get you anywhere. Because your work won't be authentic and complaining will keep you stuck.
Every high achiever knows this truth. Look at some of your favorite stars. How do you think they became so successful? Everyone's road to success is different. But one thing remains the same, it all requires hard work.
Yes, there will be moments when you don't feel like doing what it takes to be successful. Trust me, I've had plenty of moments. But taking persistent and consistent action requires you to get out of your comfort zone and more even when your having those moments. In the beginning stages of becoming an entrepreneur, you must be willing to roll up your sleeves and do the dirty work.
Those that want it bad enough will create their own opportunities. They won't make excuses. Remember, excuses will always be there, opportunities won't . Success won't happen over night. But if you can wake up each day and say to yourself that you will compete with the person you were yesterday and be persistent about the actions you take, then you are well on your way to being successful.
Now moving forward...
So now you've acknowledged the importance of taking action...then what?! Below are *three general guidelines below are designed to set you on the right track to becoming action-oriented:
Determine what you need to take action on: What areas of your life do you need to make changes in? Whether it’s your morning routine that’s leaving you less than productive or your eating habits that are leaving you lethargic throughout the whole day, you need to get crystal clear on your problem areas before you can set any effective plans. Change is never easy so expect setbacks and don’t give up!
Identify the necessary steps of action: It’s important to differentiate between impulsive actions without direction and well-determined and thought out actions that will bring you more success in life. Before you jump into taking aimless steps in the wrong direction, take a moment to identify which actions would have the intended results. Think about how your current actions contribute to the problem and make a note of how you’re going to change/replace these actions in order to achieve success.
Prepare yourself to ensure the best possible outcomes: The more prepared you are to face a wide variety of eventualities, the more likely you are to be successful at making changes in your life. How can you tell whether you’re prepared enough?
A quick way of gauging how prepared you are is by asking yourself the four questions below:
Do you need any resources in order to bring your plans to fruition?
Of the resources you need, which do you currently not have access to?
Can you foresee any potential obstacles in your path to success?
What are the possible actions you could take to avoid/overcome potential obstacles?
So when are you going to be ready to take action?
In the words of Sean Reichle: "Doing nothing gets you nothing."
