"Goals are made to be broken; commitments are not" Erica Mozee

OK, so you now know what things you'll start doing or do more of this year right? But how committed are you in actually doing those things you've said?

What are your goals? What vision do you have for this year? I'm sorry to bust your bubble, but how many times have you set goals every year and haven't reached them or didn't start? We all have, even me! There's nothing wrong with setting goals. It makes you feel good and it's great that you want more out of life. But goals are made to be broken.

Why you ask? Because sometimes we set goals to be so ridiculously high, unreachable and non relevant, that we look at it and question our ability on achieving it. Sounds familiar? What if I told you that making commitments are better than setting goals, would you believe me?

Commitment means: the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.

Or an engagement or obligation that restricts freedom of action.

Let's just face it, some of us (including me) haven't been so committed to our goals. When you make a commitment means you want it bad enough. That you want more out of life. It means that something in your life needs a drastic change and your dedicated to do what it takes to change it. That you won't give up, no matter how hard it gets.

Now doesn't making a commitment sound more better than making a goal?

Here are 5 commitments I'm dedicating myself to this year:

1. To finish my book by April

2. To exercise consistently (kickboxing, yoga, etc)

3. To fix my credit

4. To save $200 (if not more) each month

5. To travel more

These are realistic commitments I know I can dedicate my time to this year.

What are 5 things you can dedicate your time and commit to this year?
